Lifetime Achievement Awards

Recognizing Excellence

MML’s Lifetime Achievement Award recognizes an elected or appointed city/town official who has a strong record of service to the Maryland Municipal League and has demonstrated outstanding service to Maryland municipal government. Nominees can be current or former municipal officials.

Municipal Achievement Awards

Solving Community Problems to Enhance Quality of Life

The 2018 Municipal Achievement Award theme is LEAD: Solving Community Problems to Enhance Quality of Life and will honor municipal officials, municipal staff or municipal residents who have demonstrated leadership by implementing programs and policies to enhance the quality of life within their communities. Send in your entry and you might take home a prestigious MML Achievement Award.

Entries must be for programs that have been successfully operating for at least one year during the time period March 1, 2015 to March 1, 2018. A municipality may submit only one entry.

Municipal Employee of the Year 2018

The City and Town Administrators Department of the Maryland Municipal League is pleased to announce that it is accepting nominations for the annual Roland B. Sweitzer Municipal Employee of the Year Award.

Nominations for this prestigious award are open to all MML member municipalities. In order to be considered for the award, the nominee must be a current or former municipal employee. Employees who have been previously nominated, but not selected, may be re-nominated. Town managers and administrators are not eligible. Only one nomination per municipality may be submitted.

Nominations and questions should be emailed to the Maryland City/County Management Association President, Miranda Braatz.

The Award will be presented during the MML summer conference held in Ocean City, MD, during the Monday General Session on June 11, 2018. Full Details (PDF)
