Membership
Eligibility
Municipal and county clerks, or other individuals by whatever title, who perform similar duties for the municipality or county are eligible for membership in the Maryland Municipal Clerks Association (MMCA).
Purpose of Membership
This organization’s purpose is to promote improvement and efficiency in the operation of municipal and county clerk’s offices by promoting cooperation among municipal and county clerks through the MMCA. This is accomplished by the:
- Interchange of experiences and methods of conducting their offices
- Promoting periodic conferences and meetings through the MMCA for discussion of problems
- Research to find solutions
MMCA is devoted to professional advancement of the office of the municipal and county clerk.
Basic Membership
Open to municipal and county clerks, or other individuals by whatever title, who perform similar duties for the municipality or county. Full benefits and privileges are included. Membership fee is $50:
- $10 for the scholarship fund
- $5 for the IIMC Regional Meeting fund
- $35 for the organization
Honorary Membership
Honorary membership may be awarded, at a regular meeting by a two-thirds vote of all members present, to any person who has rendered conspicuous service for the improvement of the association and who is not qualified to be a member.
Membership can also be awarded to an ex-member of the association who no longer qualifies for membership because of change of job, retirement, or other similar reason. Honorary members shall not pay dues or have any voting rights.
