The Maryland Department of Planning and the Maryland Planning Commissioners Association, in conjunction with Salisbury University, invites you to join a Planning Commissioners Training Course, either in-person or attend the event virtually on December 9, 2021.
The Smart and Sustainable Growth Act of 2009 directs county and municipal planning commission/board and board of appeals members to complete an education course. The Planning Commission, Planning Board and Board of Appeals Education Course, led by staff from Planning, satisfies this state requirement for members of planning commissions and boards of appeals, per Section 1-206 of the Land Use Article.

• Roles and Responsibilities of Planning Commissioners and Boards of Zoning Appeals Members
The training is provided free of cost!
The Maryland Department of Planning (Planning), the Maryland Planning Commissioners Association (MPCA), and Salisbury University’s Urban and Regional Planning Program are bringing the Maryland planning training to a location convenient to you! If you are new to your planning commission or board of appeals, or just want a refresher course, join us on Thursday, December 9, 5:30 to 8:30 p.m., at Salisbury University (Perdue Hall, Room Classroom # PH 249).
