[ARCHIVED] New Cybersecurity Class for Academy Graduates

The Academy for Excellence in Local Governance is offering a new graduate class on "Managing the Problem of Cybersecurity." This class will take place at the offices of the Local Government Insurance Trust (LGIT) on January 14, 2022 from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and is open to Academy graduates only.  The registration fee is $100 and includes lunch.
This Academy graduate course explores the key issues facing policy makers attempting to manage the problem of cybersecurity including the technical foundations underpinning modern public services, the threat landscape, and the strategic consequences and risks facing leaders. The course is designed for county and municipal government leaders with little to no background in information technology, and will provide the principles to understand the current debates shaping a rapidly evolving security landscape. The instructor will be Associate Research Professor Charlie Harry from the School of Public Policy at the University of Maryland.  You'll find the registration form here:
