Annapolis, Md. – Maryland Municipal League’s (MML) Executive Director Scott Hancock has announced his retirement from MML after more than 26 years. Serving as MML’s Chief Executive since Dec. 4, 1995, Hancock has dedicated 41 years of his career, in service to municipal governments, with the vast majority serving in the state of Maryland.
In 2016, MML’s Board of Directors approved a detailed succession plan which lays out the process for selecting a new Executive Director. It will be overseen by MML President Jake Day and implemented by the MML Executive Committee, serving as the Executive Director Search Committee. Hancock will transition from his MML leadership role on, or about, November 1, 2022.
