[ARCHIVED] FY19 Land and Water Conservation Fund Local Grant Available

Land and Water Conservation Fund

The Maryland Department of Natural Resources announced that counties and municipalities can now apply for grant funding from the National Park Service’s Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF). Land and Water Conservation Fund projects must be in direct support of public outdoor recreation. Eligible proposals include the acquisitions, development and maintenance of outdoor recreational areas, facilities and properties, including athletic fields, boat launches, fishing piers, playgrounds, trails and more. Municipalities and counties are eligible for up to a 50% matching fund with requests capped at $800,000.

Communities are encouraged to apply and submit preliminary application forms by December 18, 2018. It would benefit you to review the LWCF competitive grant information packet found at the bottom of the website before starting the preliminary application.

If you have any questions, please contact Ingrid Brofman, Natural Resources Planner with the Department of Natural Resources, at (410) 260-8461 or Ingrid.brofman@maryland.gov.
