This Thursday, February 21, the House Economic Matters Committee will hold public hearings on bills pertaining to small cellular infrastructure. House Bill 654 is the wireless industry bill that would preempt local governments on a myriad of issues including right-of-way access, zoning authority, fees, and process.
MML strongly opposes HB 654 bill and urges you to reach out to the Chair of the committee, Dereck Davis, so that he can see the opposition to this bill. If you are interested in contacting him or your state representative, here is a template letter that you can use and also circulate to your residents if they are concerned about your city/town losing local zoning and siting authority under HB 654.
