MML was honored to have Montgomery County Councilmember, MML Past President and former Mayor of Gaithersburg, Sidney A. Katz extend greetings and a welcome to Montgomery County at the recently concluded annual Board of Directors Workshop at Glenview Mansion in Rockville. Councilmember Katz is no stranger to MML, regularly and actively participating in MML meetings and events.
Later the same day, MML President and Rockville Mayor Bridget Donnell Newton introduced Montgomery County Executive and former Takoma Park Councilmember Marc Elrich, who warmly welcomed Board members to his county. Mr. Elrich highlighted the legislative agenda of Montgomery County for the 2019 General Assembly session, spending most of his time with the Board speaking passionately and with authority about his personal support of MML’s legislative priority to assure local governments maintain control over the permitting and siting of small cell towers within the public rights-of-ways. County Executive Elrich has been an active participant in Annapolis this session supporting the Community Coalition bills on Wireless Facilities, Permitting and Siting. (HB 1020 and SB 713)
