legsession2020photo.statehouse20511687_l

n the State’s FY 2021 operating budget, municipal highway user revenues (HUR) increased to $39.1 million to be spread among all municipalities in the State. This budget figure represents an increase of about $1.2 million over FY 2020. Please see page 556 for the breakdown by county; however estimates for each municipality are not yet available.

Municipalities receive a percentage of local transportation money through a process in State law; however this percentage is set to decrease dramatically after FY24. One of MML’s legislative priorities is to eliminate this FY24 fiscal cliff and increase the percentage that goes to municipalities.
