At a press conference at the beginning of January, Governor Hogan announced some revisions to the State’s vaccine distribution strategy.
At this time, there is no definitive answer to city or municipal employees’ priority. For example, law enforcement is in phase 1A and should be receiving them now. Phase 2 includes people that work in critical utilities, so that could include water and sewer. However, people who are over a certain age group or in vulnerable groups based on age may come before that.
This strategy is fluid and subject to change based on need, the quantity available, and distribution networks. The Department of Health is committed to working with us and the municipalities on continuity of government staff, and MML will be kept informed of new changes.
