Senate Bill 336 was heard in the Education, Health, and Environmental Affairs Committee on Wednesday, February 3. As drafted, the bill would require all procurement payments to be made within 15-days of the agreed upon date or following receipt of an invoice, with interest beginning on the 16th day. Currently, local governments and State agencies have 30 days to make prompt payment. League staff participated in the Committee zoom call to share the challenges local governments face when dealing with complex projects and invoices and respectfully requested an unfavorable report.
