[ARCHIVED] Outdoor Recreation Legacy Partnership Grant Program

"The Department of the Interior has announced that the National Park Service (NPS) will distribute $150 million to local communities through the Outdoor Recreation Legacy Partnership (ORLP) grant program. The ORLP, which was established in 2014, is a nationally competitive grant program available to census designated urbanized areas (populations of 50,000 or more). Priority is given to projects which are located in economically disadvantaged areas lacking in outdoor recreation opportunities. Project sponsors must contribute a minimum dollar-for-dollar non-federal matching share to the project. Grant assistance for eligible projects can range from a minimum of $300,000 up to a maximum of $5,000,000.

The Department of Natural Resources (DNR) will accept applications through July 31, 2021. These applications will be reviewed internally by DNR and if consistent with NPS requirements will be submitted to NPS by DNR on behalf of the local sponsor. Finalized applications will be submitted to NPS by the September 24, 2021 deadline.

Questions about this grant opportunity may be directed to: Andrew Mengel at or 443-569-2827
